Case study · E-Commerce / Natural & Organic Food
Pro-U
A natural-food store from Multan, Pakistan, built on WooCommerce with a fully custom Kadence child theme. Every template is hand-coded in PHP for a premium look that stays simple to shop: goal-based browsing, a filtered shop, clear product pages and WhatsApp ordering.

Project overview
Pro-U sells natural and organic food from Multan, Pakistan: healthy snacks (goond chana bites, granola, date bites, peanut butter), farm-fresh desi eggs and raw goat milk, and two herbal wellness blends. Orders ship across Pakistan in 3 to 5 working days, and the fresh items are delivered within Multan only.
The project was a complete WooCommerce store. It uses Kadence as the parent theme, but the design and every storefront template live in a custom child theme, written in PHP rather than assembled with a page builder.
How the project started
The client's brief was short and clear: something more premium, but functional and easy to use. Food shops tend to fail in one of two ways. Either they look cheap and crowded, or they look beautiful and make the shopper work to find and buy anything. Pro-U needed to look like a brand worth paying for while a first-time visitor could still find a product and order it in a minute.
Discovery & requirements
Natural food is a trust purchase. Shoppers cannot taste or touch the product, so the store has to show quality in the photography, say plainly where the product comes from and how it is made, and remove any doubt about delivery and payment.
The range is small and falls into three groups, so the store did not need heavy navigation. It needed good guidance: who each product is for, what is delivered where, how to pay, and an easy way to ask a question. In Pakistan that last point means WhatsApp, so ordering and help through WhatsApp had to be a first-class option next to the normal cart.
Design direction
The look is premium without being cold. A deep forest green sets the tone on the hero, the process section and the shop header, while warm cream surfaces carry the products and the reading. A single fresh lime accent marks the main actions. Headlines are large and confident, with one word in each set in an elegant italic serif ("organic", "day", "honest") to add warmth and a sense of craft.
Product photography sits on soft cream tiles with rounded corners and generous space, so the packaging is the star. A scrolling marquee of short brand lines (naturally good, thoughtfully made, hygienically prepared, delivered across Pakistan) adds movement to the homepage without getting in the way.
Planning & architecture
Browsing works in two ways. Visitors who know what they want use the Shop menu, which opens to Shop all, Healthy Snacks, Farm Fresh and Herbal Wellness. Visitors who do not are helped by "Shop by goal" on the homepage: Energy & fitness, Family table and Daily wellness, each with a short line and its own products.
The shop page adds category chips with counts, a filter sidebar and sorting. Each product page keeps the decision close: gallery, price, a delivery note, quantity, Add to cart, wishlist and Order on WhatsApp, with trust points (natural ingredients, hygienically packed, cash on delivery) just below. Fresh items carry a "Multan only" label so nobody is surprised at checkout.
Development
The store runs on WordPress and WooCommerce. Kadence is installed as the parent theme and provides the base, while the child theme replaces the storefront with custom PHP templates: header, homepage sections, shop archive, product page and footer, with WooCommerce's template overrides used where the shop needs its own markup.
Because nothing is built with a page builder, the markup stays clean and the pages stay light. On phones the header gives way to an app-style bottom bar (Home, Shop, Search, Cart, Menu), the hero buttons stretch to full width and product cards move to two columns, so the main actions stay within thumb reach.
Challenges & solutions
The main design problem was holding two goals together: a premium feel and a simple shopping flow. Rich visuals can slow a shopper down, so each decorative choice had to earn its place. The dark sections are used for mood and storytelling, while the places where people actually choose and buy (product grids, product pages, cart) use light, calm surfaces and high-contrast buttons.
The second challenge was delivery. Most products ship nationwide but eggs and goat milk are fresh and local to Multan. Rather than hide this in the policy pages, it appears as a banner in the announcement bar, a label on the product cards and a note on the product page.
Outcome
Pro-U now has a store that looks like a premium food brand and is simple to use: shoppers can browse by goal or by category, understand delivery and payment at a glance, and order either through the cart or on WhatsApp. Because it is a custom child theme on Kadence, the design belongs entirely to the brand while the foundation stays standard and maintainable.
